In order to ensure the long life of TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings, it is not enough to meet the general installation and adjustment requirements. It is recommended to take the following measures:
(1) The TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings are grouped according to the size of their interference fit surface. In each group, the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings are arranged in order of their clearance size. The corresponding shaft or seat hole diameters are grouped in the same way. The TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing set with a large interference fit surface size is matched with a large diameter shaft set or a seat hole set, and a small size and a small diameter corresponding group are selected. In each corresponding group of matching, the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing with large clearance is tightly matched, and the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing with small clearance takes a loose fit. The result of this selection makes the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing have the same interference and interference in the same batch of machines, which is neither too loose nor too tight, and the clearance is relatively uniform, thus ensuring the installation of TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings. After the pre-stress is appropriate, and avoid creep, ferrule bursting, impact due to improper play, vibration or heat, cohesion and other abnormal TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing failure.
(2) The coaxiality of the journal and the seat hole at both ends of the support and the perpendicularity to the support end face are strictly ensured to prevent the occurrence of additional load. If possible, the mechanical components acting on the load outside the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing should be slightly away from the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing at the end that is more susceptible to damage, while the shaft and rotating part system should be as smooth as possible.
