How to install to enable TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings to achieve the longest service life

In order to ensure the long life of TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings, it is not enough to meet the general installation and adjustment requirements. It is recommended to take the following measures:

(1) The TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings are grouped according to the size of their interference fit surface. In each group, the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings are arranged in order of their clearance size. The corresponding shaft or seat hole diameters are grouped in the same way. The TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing set with a large interference fit surface size is matched with a large diameter shaft set or a seat hole set, and a small size and a small diameter corresponding group are selected. In each corresponding group of matching, the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing with large clearance is tightly matched, and the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing with small clearance takes a loose fit. The result of this selection makes the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing have the same interference and interference in the same batch of machines, which is neither too loose nor too tight, and the clearance is relatively uniform, thus ensuring the installation of TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearings. After the pre-stress is appropriate, and avoid creep, ferrule bursting, impact due to improper play, vibration or heat, cohesion and other abnormal TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing failure.

(2) The coaxiality of the journal and the seat hole at both ends of the support and the perpendicularity to the support end face are strictly ensured to prevent the occurrence of additional load. If possible, the mechanical components acting on the load outside the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing should be slightly away from the TIMKEN self-aligning ball bearing at the end that is more susceptible to damage, while the shaft and rotating part system should be as smooth as possible.

Several methods to check whether SKF tapered roller bearing grease is reused

If the grease used in SKF tapered roller bearings cannot be used, if it is not noticed, it will cause great damage to SKF tapered roller bearings. Therefore, you must learn how to judge whether the grease can be reused.

Oil droplet trace method

Take a clean white filter paper, drop a few drops of oil on the filter paper. After the oil leaks, if there is a black powder on the surface, touch the hand with a feeling of resistance, it means that there are a lot of impurities in the lubricant. Good lubricants are powder-free, dry and smooth by hand, and have yellow marks.

2. Handcuffs

The lubricant is rubbed repeatedly between the thumb and the index finger. The better lubricant feels lubricated, less wear debris, and no friction. If you feel a large friction between the fingers, it means lubrication. There are many impurities in the oil, which can no longer be used. New lubricants should be replaced.

3. Illumination method

On a clear day, use a screwdriver to pick up the oil at a 45-degree angle to the horizontal. In the light of the sun, observe the oil droplets. Under the light, it can be clearly seen that there is no wear debris in the lubricating oil, which can be inherited. If the grinding debris is too much, the lubricating oil should be replaced.

4. Oil flow observation method

Take two measuring cups, one of which is filled with the lubricating oil to be inspected, the other is placed on the table, and the measuring cup filled with lubricating oil is lifted off the table 30-40 cm and tilted to allow the lubricating oil to slowly flow to the empty cup. In the middle, observe the activity, the quality of the lubricating oil flow should be slender, average, continuous, if the oil flow suddenly and slowly, and sometimes there is a large flow, then the lubricant has deteriorated.
